WATER QUALITY PROBLEM

Hardness salts, Ca and Mg form scale deposits on heat exchangers, nozzles, fittings, pipes, sanitary facilities. Fine technical equipment rapidly out of order or increasing power consumption.

SOLUTION

The solution for these problems is softening by ion exchange resins that are regenerated with NaCl. WATEX CMS DUPLEX series equipment is a water softening equipment for process and drinking water purposes. It is able to reduce water hardness and iron content.

FILTER PERFORMANCE

Softener columns works parallel simultaneously. When one columns goes to regeneration, second columns produces water with half of water flow rate.

For recovery of filtering material (ion resins) reagent (NaCl or salt tablets) is used. Wastewaters produced in regeneration processes of equipment in WATEX CMS DUPLEX can be directly discharged to biological wastewater treatment plant. WATEX CMS DUPLEX consists of a 2 filter columns, 2 control units and 2 brine tanks. The filter columns are filled with ion exchange resin (cationic), which reduces hardness and iron concentration in water. The control units perform automatic regeneration. Brine tank is filled with a reagent (NaCl, salt tablets) for resin regeneration. Capacity of filter material is calculated according to amount of resins and raw water quality.

FILTER CONTROL

WATEX CMS DUPLEX is equipped with a Clack WS CI control units, with a built-in flow meter that performs filter material regeneration according to water consumption. Both filter columns do not perform regeneration in the same time. Both control units have been set to perform regeneration in different time intervals. With this setup one, filter column functions all the time and customers will be provided with purified water 24h a day. It has to be notified that in time of regeneration, only one column is functional and because of that flow rate is reduced by 50%. Regeneration is performed immediately after filtration ability of filter material is reached. Flowmeter saves water and salt used for filter regeneration. Control unit saves all information in case of power failure. Equipment has many parameters that can be adjusted according to needs, such as washing time, frequency, reagent consumption, and so on. It is possible to change the water hardness.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE                                

The equipment need sewer and electricity 220V connection, input water pressure with a minimum pressure of 2.5 bar, the room temperature above 0° C, the water temperature to 25° C as well as correct system connection.

RECOMMENDATIONS

• Before selection of equipment, it is recommended to test raw water chemical composition.
• Before the water filter, it is preferable to install mechanical filter to ensure long-term equipment service life.
